Mindscape Christof Klute
25.11.2023

Mindscape - Christof Klute is the twenty-second exhibition organized by the Rolla Foundation. On this occasion, the Foundation is presenting twenty-nine works by the German photographer from the private collection of Philip and Rosella Rolla, focusing on places of reflection and ideas. These are themes close to Klute, who studied philosophy, theology, and literature before turning to photography.

Christof Klute (Münster, 1966) after studying Theology at the University of Münster (1986-88) and Philosophy at the University of Cologne (1990-1995), Christof Klute studied Photography with Bernd Becher and Thomas Ruff at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf (1995-2002). He graduated as a master’s student with Thomas Ruff.
In his works he explores places where philosophers such as Spinoza, Rousseau and Wittgenstein wrote important treatises, or spiritual spaces such as churches and monasteries. Architecture is also present, especially the concepts of modern architecture. In this context, he has made photographic series on the architects Le Corbusier, Terragni, Niemeyer, and an important work on the city of Tel Aviv.
Christof Klute has exhibited with Gallery Löhrl (Mönchengladbach, Germany), Galeria Maior (Pollenca, Spain), Stiftung St. Matthäus (Berlin, Germany), Cons Arc Gallery (Chiasso, Switzerland), SK Stiftung Kultur (Cologne, Germany), Mamco Musée d'art moderne et contemporain (Geneva, Switzerland), International Museum of the Reformation, Geneva, Switzerland), Museum Couvent de Jakobins (Toulouse, France), Huis Marseille, Museum for photography (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Museum für Photographie (Braunschweig, Germany), Kunstmuseum Magdeburg (Germany).

The exhibition is held in contemporary with Revisited - Christof Klute at CONSARC/GALLERIA .
