Beat Streuli

From 1977 to 1980 he attended design schools in Basel and Zurich. From 1981 to 1986 he studied at the University of the Arts in Berlin. Central motif of his research are people in public space. His photos or videos portray urban individuals, mostly young people. The telephoto lens used causes the viewer to see the people photographed in the foreground. The artist produces both medium and large format images, sometimes assembled into photographic panels. His video works often run in parallel on multiple monitors. Beat Streuli, regularly guest lectures at the Zurich University of the Arts. He lives in Zurich and Brussels.
